The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Text Expander for Google Chrome™
Stop retyping the same emails, replies and addresses. Save any text as a snippet, give it a short keyword, and type ;keyword in any text field to insert it.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Create a snippet, for example the keyword "email" for your email address.
2. In any text box on any website, type ;email
3. Press Enter, or let it expand automatically.
FEATURES
• Works on almost any website: email, chat, help desks, CRMs, forms and social media
• Also works in Google Docs, Google Keep and web code editors
• Rich text: bold, italic, font sizes and lists, with formatting kept when inserted into email and other rich-text editors
• Fill-in fields: add text boxes, date pickers or dropdowns to a snippet and fill them in each time you use it. Useful for names, dates and anything else that changes.
• Suggestions as you type: type the trigger character to see matching snippets, then pick one with the arrow keys and Enter
• Auto-expand: inserts instantly when you type an exact keyword (you can turn this off)
• Right-click any text field to insert a snippet from a menu
• Choose your trigger character: ; / ? ` ~ \ | : < >
• Toolbar quick access: search your snippets and copy one to the clipboard in one click
• Easy to manage: search, sort, duplicate, undo delete, and keyboard shortcuts
• Light and dark mode
• Interface available in 49 languages
GREAT FOR
Customer support replies, sales follow-ups, recruiting emails, signatures, addresses, meeting links, and anything else you type more than once.
PRIVACY
Your snippets are stored locally in your browser. There's no account and no sign-up, and your snippets are never sent to a server.
Why it needs access to websites: to spot your trigger keyword while you type and insert your snippet into the field. Nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere.
