Key Features Course Scheduling and Date Tools Build or revise course timelines with preview-based scheduling tools. Adjust assignment dates, lock dates, blackout days, weekday rules, module/item sequencing, and course pacing details before applying changes. Course Setup and Bulk Course Management Manage Canvas course dashboards, course nicknames, time zones, grade schemes, course images, home pages, navigation tabs, and course materials across selected courses. Gradebook and SpeedGrader Tools Save time in SpeedGrader with rubric shortcuts, feedback tools, ungraded item helpers, temporary zero workflows, assignment weights, and grading utilities for single-course or multi-course workflows. Free and Premium Access TeacherPro includes a mix of free and premium tools. Free tools provide core Canvas productivity features, while Premium unlocks advanced bulk workflows, multi-course actions, expanded grading tools, communication workflows, rubric management, and priority support. Getting Started 1. Install the extension. 2. Open TeacherPro Settings. 3. Enter your Canvas Base URL and Personal Access Token. 4. Click Test Canvas Connection, then Save. 5. Open the TeacherPro Dashboard and choose a tool. Data and Privacy Your Canvas Personal Access Token is stored on your device and used to communicate with the Canvas domain you configure. TeacherPro uses Canvas data to perform actions you request, such as scheduling items, updating rubrics, posting announcements, managing course settings, and grading workflows. Some optional features also perform scheduled local checks, such as enrollment alerts, cache refreshes, course dashboard refreshes, and backup reminders. These checks do not use browser notifications and do not send Canvas data to TeacherPro servers. Your license key may be checked with the TeacherPro subscription server. TeacherPro uses these permissions to load course data, call official Canvas APIs, support Canvas-facing tools, and complete actions initiated by the user. TeacherPro also uses approved PowerSchool domains for related grade-log workflows and a TeacherPro licensing endpoint to verify premium access. Canvas data is not sent to the licensing endpoint. Permissions Used Canvas Domains Used to communicate with your configured Canvas host and perform actions you explicitly request. Storage Used to save settings, local preferences, feedback library items, rubric presets, cached dashboard data, and extension state. Tabs and Active Tab Used to open relevant Canvas pages, settings pages, help pages, and TeacherPro workflows. Context Menus Used to provide quick access to TeacherPro tools. Alarms Used for scheduled local maintenance, including backup reminders, enrollment checks, course dashboard refreshes, and cache refresh scheduling. These alarms do not use browser notifications. They do not collect browsing history, perform analytics, or send Canvas or personal data to TeacherPro servers. Scripting Used only where needed to support TeacherPro’s Canvas-facing tools and dashboard workflows. Compatibility TeacherPro works with official Canvas APIs and supported Canvas pages, including Canvas SpeedGrader workflows. Some features also use carefully scoped page scripting where necessary to interact with Canvas editors and page controls. Canvas configurations, permissions, enabled features, and available APIs can vary between institutions. As a result, not every TeacherPro feature may be available or function fully for every user or Canvas organization.
