About Taliri
Taliri teaches you a language inside the reading you already do. As you browse, a few well-chosen words swap into the language you are learning, right inside the page. Hover a word for its meaning, the sentence you met it in, and its forms, and hear it when your browser has a voice for that language. After a few meetings, a word comes back as a short question: pick the answer to check your recall, and honest spaced repetition (FSRS) decides when it returns.
A few words a day, where you already are.
Taliri is $7/month or $49/year, with a 14-day refund.
To use Taliri you need a subscription and an email sign-in. Subscribe on taliri.app, where Paddle, our reseller, runs the checkout; nothing is paid inside the extension. Then sign in with the same email: Taliri emails you a link, you open it, and Taliri unlocks. Installed it first? Signing in is Taliri's first step, and it offers the plans if your email has none yet.
• Works on the pages you already read: news, blogs, feeds, documentation.
• You choose where it runs: everywhere, only on sites you pick, or only when you click. Access to the pages you read is optional and needs your permission.
• Kept off sensitive sites: a built-in list excludes mail, documents, banking and payment pages, and it backs off any page showing a password field.
• Page text never leaves your device. Reading and learning run on your machine, and your learning record stays there. The extension talks only to Taliri’s own servers: to download its signed dictionaries, to sign you in, and to check your plan about once a week, when it also shares which language you’re learning and a count of words and answers. Those requests never carry page text, page addresses or your browsing history.
• Once you are signed in and your dictionary is installed, reading works on a plane.
• Nothing about what you read is tracked. No streaks, no confetti. Meeting a word isn’t remembering it: only your answers count as recall.
• Languages today: Swedish, German, Hindi (Devanagari with transliteration), Spanish and French. Spanish and French download their dictionary when you choose them. More languages coming.
• Pronunciation is your browser's own speech service, available when it has a voice for your language; some browsers use an online voice for that. Install your system's premium voices for the best sound.
• Your progress is yours: export your learning data to a file, or erase it entirely, from the options page. If you stop paying, everything you have learned stays yours to practise; only new words stop.
