The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About TabStyr
TabStyr shows where your browser time actually goes, and keeps your browsing data on your own device.
It quietly measures the time you spend actively on each tab and website, then presents it as a clear, private dashboard: today at a glance first, with trends, an activity heatmap, category breakdowns, and gentle reminders for tabs you've left behind one click away. No account, no servers, and your browsing data never leaves your machine.
FEATURES
• Today at a glance — active time versus your daily average, with a sparkline.
• Any day, not just today — pick one of the last 90 days and see its categories, top sites, and focus. Click a day in the trend chart to jump there.
• Trends — day, week, and month views.
• Activity heatmap — the hours and days you browse most, over the last 7 days.
• Categories — time grouped into Work, Dev, Finance, Social, Media, News, Shopping, and Other, with hundreds of sites recognized automatically. Reclassify any site, add your own rules, or create your own categories.
• Focus — your own split of productive and distracting time. You choose which categories count and set your target; a streak shows for today.
• Top sites and per-tab breakdown — with a detail view for any site.
• Daily work log — pick a day and copy a clean list of sites, or export it as an image or CSV, for standups, timesheets, and invoices.
• Stale-tab reminders — a badge count and an optional once-a-day nudge.
• Comparisons — week-over-week and month-over-month, with per-category deltas.
• Pause tracking — one click in the popup or Settings stops tracking until you turn it back on.
• Never-track sites — keep chosen sites off the record entirely. Time already recorded stays until you wipe it.
• Export, encrypted backup, and restore — download your full history as JSON, optionally passphrase-encrypted, and restore or merge it on any device.
PRIVACY
TabStyr is private by default:
• 100% local. All data is stored in your browser (IndexedDB). Detailed history is kept for 90 days; monthly per-site totals for up to 60 months.
• No servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no ads. The extension makes no network requests. When you remove it, your browser opens a short, optional feedback page.
• It never reads page content — only the URLs and titles of your tabs, which the browser already provides.
• Your data stays yours: export it, encrypt it, or erase everything in a single click. There is no cloud and no backend to upload to.
COMPATIBILITY
Works on Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers. Available in 11 languages.
