About Tabstead: Tab Manager & Saved Workspaces
Too many tabs, and too much worth keeping?
Tabstead gives your tabs a home. Save a research session, a project, a reading list or a trip plan into a named collection. Find it later by collection name, page title or website, then reopen the links when you need them.
SAVE A WORKSPACE
Choose the tabs you want to keep, name the collection and save. Optionally close those tabs after the collection has been stored. Pinned tabs and tabs playing audio stay open. Duplicate links are saved only once.
PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF
Open a saved collection without losing it from your library. Tabstead skips exact links already open in your regular Chrome windows, so you can return to a project without creating unnecessary duplicates.
FIND THE RIGHT THING
Search across collection names, saved page titles and URLs. Star the collections you use most. Rename a collection, browse its links, or recover removed collections from Trash.
TAKE YOUR LINKS WITH YOU
Export a collection as a Markdown link list for your notes. Download a JSON backup of all collections and import it on another Chrome profile or computer. Imports add collections without overwriting the existing library.
LOCAL AND SIMPLE
No account. No advertising. No analytics. No cloud sync. Your collections are stored in your Chrome profile. The extension reads tab titles and URLs to provide these features, but does not read page content or send your collections to the publisher.
A COMFORTABLE EVERYDAY TOOL
A compact popup for quick saves, a full library for organizing collections, keyboard-friendly controls, and System, Light and Dark appearance settings. Filter open tabs before saving and refresh without losing your selection.
WHAT TO KNOW
Tabstead saves website links, not unsaved form inputs, page content, tab groups or browsing history. Private windows, Chrome internal pages and local files are excluded. Export a backup before uninstalling because Chrome removes the extension's local data. Trash remains stored and recoverable; importing a backup brings those collections back to the library.
