About TabNest - Tree Style Tabs

TabNest adds vertical, tree-style tabs to Chrome’s side panel, helping you organize related tabs into a clean, collapsible hierarchy without replacing your normal tab bar. Tabs opened from links automatically nest beneath their parent. Research trails, work projects, shopping comparisons, and debugging sessions stay organized instead of disappearing into a crowded row of favicons. No account required. No ads. No tracking. 🌳 Organize tabs in a tree Related tabs automatically stay grouped beneath their parent and follow Chrome’s tab order. 🖱️ Drag and drop tabs Reorder, re-nest, and restructure tabs quickly. Edge scrolling lets you move tabs through even the longest trees. 📁 Collapse branches Hide an entire branch without closing anything. Count badges show how many tabs are inside collapsed tabs and folders. 🆕 Open new tabs where you work Choose whether Ctrl+T opens beside the current tab, as its child, or at the end of the tab strip. 🔍 Search instantly Filter tabs by title or URL while preserving their tree context. Matches remain visible inside collapsed branches. Press Ctrl+Shift+F to focus search. ✅ Select multiple tabs Use Ctrl-click or Shift-click to select tabs, then close, move, sleep, or organize them together. 🕘 Reopen recently closed tabs Restore recently closed tabs and windows with their browsing history intact. TabNest can also return restored tabs to their previous tree position. ⌨️ Navigate by keyboard Move through the tree, open tabs, toggle folders, and close items without reaching for the mouse. 🪟 Manage multiple windows Every Chrome window keeps an independent tab tree. 🧹 Close with confidence Close a branch, its children, everything else, or the tabs above or below it. Bulk closes include a quick Undo action. 🔊 Spot noisy tabs Audio indicators make playing tabs easy to find and mute. 🌫️ Spot idle tabs Inactive tabs can be dimmed automatically so you can see what is still in active use. 🌗 Customize your view Use light or dark mode and adjust tab text and icon sizes for readability. TABNEST PRO 🗂️ Create folders Group tabs that belong together even when they have no natural parent. Folders can be named, nested, dragged, collapsed, and show their total tab count. 😴 Put tabs to sleep Unload one tab or an entire branch to free memory without closing anything. ⏱️ Configure Auto-Sleep Automatically sleep inactive tabs after a chosen period. Pinned tabs and selected websites can be excluded. 💾 Save complete sessions Capture the current window’s entire tab tree, including its nesting, and restore it later in a new window. Saved sessions are compressed automatically. Keep individual sessions saved in Chrome’s cloud storage for cross-device sync, or save them locally on one device. The Sessions page shows cloud storage usage and lets you change each session’s storage location. Sessions that cannot fit in the available cloud space remain safely stored locally. Export is always available for backups. Importing sessions is included with Pro. All Pro features unlock with a single $10 purchase — no subscription, ever. TabNest is built for researchers, developers, students, writers, shoppers, and anyone whose “one more tab” habit makes Chrome difficult to navigate. Whether you are following a research trail, comparing products, debugging an application, or preserving a project for later, TabNest keeps the structure visible and the clutter manageable. Just tabs, tamed.
