About Tabby: Multi-Account Tabs
Have more than one account on the same website? Normally Chrome keeps one login per site, so you log out and back in, or open an incognito window.
Tabby lets you keep several accounts open side by side in one window.
How it works
1. Click the Tabby icon and add a container. Name it anything: Personal, Work, Mom.
2. Click the open button (the box with an arrow) next to a container. The page you are on opens again in a new tab that belongs to that container. The plus button opens an empty tab in that container.
3. Log in there. That login stays in that container. Your normal tab stays logged in as before.
Each container tab shows the container's name at the start of the tab title and carries the container's colour, so you always know which account you are looking at.
What it does
- Separate cookies, local storage and session storage for each container
- Name, rename and colour your containers
- As many containers as you need; the list scrolls
- Links opened from a container tab stay in that container
- Saved logins come back the next time you open a page in that container
Good to know
- After you restart Chrome, open your pages in their containers again from the menu. Your saved logins are still there.
- Sites that keep login data in IndexedDB or in a service worker may not separate fully.
- Tabby only changes tabs you put in a container. Every other tab works as normal.
Privacy
Your logins stay in your browser on your computer. Tabby has no server and makes no network requests of its own. Nothing is sent to the developer or to anyone else.
