About Tab Workspaces: Tab Manager, Session Saver & Tab Group Templates
Tab Workspaces is a tab manager and session saver for Chrome that makes sure you never lose tabs again.
WORKSPACES
• Save any window (tabs, tab groups, pinned tabs) as a named workspace.
• Switch between workspaces in one click, or open one in a new window.
• While a workspace is open, every change saves automatically.
• Earlier versions are kept, so an accidental change can be undone.
NEVER LOSE TABS
• Closing a window or quitting Chrome never empties a workspace.
• Every few minutes, all open windows are backed up to History. Restore a whole session or one window after a crash.
• Big workspaces open instantly: tabs load only when you click them.
TEMPLATES WITH VARIABLES
Open the same set of pages again and again with different values: the dashboards, logs and runbook for an incident, the tools for a client, the reports for a date.
• Put {{variables}} in links: {{requestId}}, {{customer}}, {{region|us-west-2}}.
• Time ranges are built in: {{@now-15m}}, {{@now:ms}}, or relative to a time you type: {{@time+30m}}.
• Everything opens as one named, coloured tab group.
SEARCH, IMPORT, EXPORT
• Search every saved page in one box.
• Import from OneTab, Session Buddy and Toby exports.
• Export a backup, or a bookmarks file any browser can import: your data is never locked in.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account, no server, no tracking. Everything stays in your browser on your computer.
• Chrome says the extension can "read your browsing history": that is how it sees the tabs it saves. It never sends them anywhere.
Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+Shift+W opens the panel, Alt+Shift+S saves the current window (change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts).
Made for on-call engineers, support teams, agencies, researchers and anyone who works with too many tabs.
