The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Super Screen Recorder
Super Screen Recorder is a local-first Chrome recorder and lightweight video editor for tutorials, product demos, presentations, and async updates. Capture what you need, explain it live, polish the result, and export a finished video—all from Chrome.
Record:
• Your current Chrome tab, entire desktop, or webcam only
• Microphone and capture-source audio when available
• Optional webcam overlay for tab recordings, with rectangle or circle shape, mirroring, drag, resize, reposition, and hide/show controls
• Local camera effects including blur, solid-color backgrounds, and custom image backgrounds from an on-device library
• Target-tab frame presets: Current Window, 16:9, 4:3, 4:5, 1:1, and 9:16
• Pause, resume, mute the microphone, or stop from the in-page control dock
• Live annotations including pen, arrow, rectangle, ellipse, eraser, and cursor highlighting
• Continue recording across page navigation when supported by Chrome
Edit:
• Trim and split clips, remove sections, move clips, close gaps, change speed, and zoom the timeline
• Adjust capture and microphone audio independently with volume, mute, fade-in, and fade-out
• Add timed text overlays and manually positioned blur overlays for sensitive content
• Generate automatic captions locally from microphone or capture audio, then edit caption text, timing, and style
• Choose a final canvas ratio: Original, 16:9, 4:3, 4:5, 1:1, or 9:16
• Export locally as MP4 or WebM, with up to 1080p output depending on your plan
Privacy and local-first workflow:
Your recordings, camera frames, annotations, editing projects, captions, and exported videos stay on your device. Camera and microphone content are processed locally; media is not uploaded to the cloud. Google sign-in is required before starting a recording and is used for account identity and access decisions, not for storing your media.
The Free plan includes unlimited basic recording and 720p export. Pro adds 1080p export, camera background effects, and new automatic caption generation.
