SubHamster

Learn a language while you watch. SubHamster shows live subtitles in up to three languages at the same time — the original, your translation, and a phonetic line (for example Pinyin with tone marks, or Japanese Romaji). Watch your favorite videos and pick up a new language along the way. FEATURES • Up to 3 subtitle rows in sync: original + translation + phonetics • Works great on YouTube, plus many other video sites • Choose the source language — watch a Spanish video with English subtitles, or the other way around • Whole-sentence subtitles with natural line breaks (no word-by-word flicker) • Full styling: color and size per language, position (top / middle / bottom), background opacity • Multiple translators: built-in translation, or add your own DeepL / OpenAI / Anthropic key for higher quality • Chinese Pinyin and Japanese Romaji phonetic lines • Optional built-in speech recognition for videos that have no captions HOW IT WORKS Install SubHamster, open a video, and the subtitle panel appears at the edge of the player. Pick your languages and styling — subtitles appear instantly and stay in sync. PRICING SubHamster is free to install. Full features are unlocked with a subscription (monthly or yearly), handled securely inside the extension via Stripe. Cancel anytime. PRIVACY Your settings stay on your device. Caption text is only sent to the translation service you choose, to produce your subtitles. Privacy policy: https://subhamster.com/privacy.html
