The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About StudyCog Web Capture
StudyCog Web Capture sends content from the page you are reading straight into your StudyCog library, ready to read with your own fonts, colours, and read-aloud voice.
Two ways to capture:
Capture screenshot - drag a rectangle over any part of the page (or place the box with the arrow keys if you prefer not to drag). The area is saved as a screenshot in StudyCog and the text in it is recognised automatically, so you can read it, highlight it, and listen to it like any other document.
Capture text - highlight text on the page first, then capture it. The text is saved as a text capture in your StudyCog library with the page address and title attached. Text captures from the same page are grouped together, so returning to an article later adds to the same set.
A message on the page confirms each capture the moment it saves, and after your first capture a small quick-capture control stays on that page so repeat captures do not need the toolbar. Dismiss it any time.
Keyboard shortcuts: press Alt+Shift+S to start a screenshot capture and Alt+Shift+T to capture your highlighted text (Option+Shift+S and Option+Shift+T on Mac) - no popup needed. Change them any time at chrome://extensions/shortcuts; the popup always shows the current keys.
Everything you capture lands in the Captures area of your StudyCog library, linked back to the original page.
Built for accessibility:
- The popup mirrors your StudyCog colour scheme, including custom colours
- Fully keyboard operable, from the capture shortcuts to a no-drag way to pick a region
- Capture confirmations are announced to screen readers and respect reduced-motion settings
- Large, clearly labelled controls
Getting started:
1. Sign in to StudyCog and open Account, then Security
2. Generate your extension token and copy it
3. Click the StudyCog icon in your toolbar and paste the token once
You need a StudyCog account to use this extension. Captures are always started by you - the extension never reads a page or sends anything on its own.
