StreamBubbles Overlay

StreamBubbles Overlay is a Chrome extension that displays chat and comment overlays directly on the Twitch video player. As a Twitch chat overlay, it lets you switch between danmaku-style scrolling comments, bubble-style comments, and a fixed panel display in a single extension. Main Features • Chat / comment overlay on the Twitch video player • 3 switchable themes (Nico / POP / Classic) • Detailed settings for each theme • Display font switching for each theme • Settings saved via chrome.storage.sync • Classic theme layout editing (move / resize) Theme Overview ■ Nico A danmaku-style theme that scrolls comments from right to left. You can fine-tune the display area, transparency, speed, number of rows, text outline, and more. ■ POP A pop, speech-bubble-style theme. You can adjust left/right placement, skins, background opacity, font size, display width/height, display duration, and more. ■ Classic A readability-focused semi-transparent panel theme. It can be fixed near the bottom-right of the player, making it easier to follow chat while watching the stream. Supported Environment • Google Chrome (Manifest V3 compatible) • Supported site: https://www.twitch.tv/* How to Use 1. Open a Twitch page 2. Open the chat pane once to start loading chat messages 3. Open the popup from the extension icon, or from the icon added to the bottom-right of the player 4. Turn the overlay ON 5. Select a theme (Nico / POP / Classic) 6. Adjust theme-specific values from “Advanced Settings” Classic Layout Editing • Press the “Layout Edit” button to switch to edit mode • Drag the panel to move it, and resize it using the bottom-right handle • Press the button again to exit after finishing your edits * This extension is for Twitch only and does not work on other websites. Recent Updates (v0.1.30) Improved the Nico theme so comments are less likely to overlap on the same row during busy chat moments. The scrolling behavior has been adjusted for better readability while preserving natural speed variation. (v0.1.29) Improved the display of celebration-style messages in the POP theme, such as subscriptions and Bits. Added an “Ultra” background opacity option for the POP theme, allowing comments to be shown with an even darker background. (v0.1.28) Improved overlay recovery on Twitch when an ad plays first on initial access. After the ad ends, the overlay now reconnects automatically without requiring a page reload, including comment display for Nico / POP / Classic and the inline menu. Initialization and reconnection handling have also been strengthened to better recover after player or chat DOM changes. (v0.1.27) Added font switching support. You can now choose the display font for each theme: Nico, POP, and Classic. (v0.1.26) Improved self-comment detection in the POP theme. Reduced cases where first comments were not highlighted in yellow, and adjusted the detection logic to help prevent other users’ comments from being mistakenly highlighted in yellow. (v0.1.25) Improved the display of “Highlight My Message” in the POP theme. Fixed an issue so the sender name is now displayed correctly, and adjusted the text color of highlighted messages.
