The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Stream Speed
Most streaming players rewrite the playback rate on every buffer stall, quality switch, and ad boundary. Stream Speed takes ownership of the rate so your setting sticks, then hands control straight back to the site the moment you return to 1x.
WHAT YOU GET
- Draggable on-screen dial - drop it anywhere, it snaps to the nearest edge, and it follows you into fullscreen
- Time left at your chosen speed - a 48-minute lecture at 2x reads "24:00 left"
- Skip back and forward - 2, 5, 10 or 30 seconds, your choice
- A-B loop - mark two points and repeat the section between them
- Picture-in-picture in one click
- Speed presets on the dial and in the toolbar popup
- Scroll over the dial to nudge the speed
- Click the readout to jump between 1x and your last fast speed
- Optional single-key shortcuts - off by default, fully remappable, and never triggered while you are typing
- A per-site block list for pages you want left completely alone
- Speed and dial position remembered per site
WHY IT KEEPS WORKING
Videos tucked inside a shadow DOM are still found, and players rendered inside an iframe are covered too. The dial draws itself in a way that survives strict site security rules rather than quietly failing to appear. Skipping respects how much of the video the player can actually reach, so it never forces a jump the player cannot serve.
PRIVACY
No account. No network requests. No analytics, no tracking, no ads. There is no server behind this extension. Your speed and dial position stay in your browser, and your preferences sync only through your own Chrome profile. Nothing is collected and nothing is sold.
