About State Finder for TikTok

State Finder for TikTok estimates the most likely US STATE a TikTok creator is based in, using only public signals the creator chose to post. Every result is a probability with a confidence score and a full evidence trail — never a definitive claim. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TikTok or ByteDance. "MiMo" is a third-party AI service you connect with your own API key. HOW IT WORKS Open a TikTok video or profile and click "Analyze this creator." The extension reads publicly visible signals on that page and the creator's public profile: • Video caption and hashtags • The creator's bio and display name • Their recent video captions • Public comments and replies (including the creator's own replies) • TikTok's public account region code, when available It runs a quick local scan for obvious location cues, then sends the collected public text to the MiMo AI API — using YOUR API key — to reason about the most likely US state. You get a state, a confidence percentage, a plain-English rationale, and an evidence trail showing exactly which signal pointed where, with creator-authored signals weighted far above random commenters. WHAT YOU NEED A MiMo (xiaomimimo.com) pay-as-you-go API key, entered in Settings. Your key is stored locally in your browser and used only to call MiMo. No key, no analysis. FEATURES • Confidence score and runner-up state, with a clear "treat as a guess" band for weak evidence • Evidence trail — every signal labeled CREATOR or COMMENTER so you can judge it yourself • Recent-video evidence links straight to the source video • Cancel button, auto-opens the comments panel, results cached locally for 30 days • History tab for past lookups • Runs in the background with an optional desktop notification when done WHAT IT IS NOT • Not a way to find someone's home address, phone number, or identity — it estimates a broad US state only. • Not a tracker. It has no server; the developer receives no data. • Not affiliated with TikTok. PRIVACY The extension only reads pages you explicitly choose to analyze. Collected public text is sent to the MiMo AI API under your own key to produce the estimate; your API key, settings, and results are stored locally in your browser and are never sent to the developer. RESPONSIBLE USE Intended for journalistic verification, research, and OSINT on public content. Do not use it to harass, stalk, or harm anyone. Treat every result as a probability, not a fact.
