The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About StackTrim
StackTrim puts every subscription your business pays for on one page and works out what the stack
actually costs. You record each tool once: what it is, which job it does, how many seats you pay
for, what one bill costs, how often it bills and when it renews. StackTrim then shows the yearly
run-rate, flags two tools doing the same job, groups what renews in the next 30, 60 and 90 days,
and ranks where to look first. It runs entirely in your browser.
It is built for the person who ends up owning software spend at a small company: the owner, the
operations lead, or whoever inherited IT. Tools get bought one at a time, on different cards, in
different months, and nobody has ever put the whole list on one page. The waste is ordinary and
expensive: two tools doing one job after a team changed its mind, seats still billing for people
who left, an annual renewal that passed unnoticed because no one had the date.
What you get:
- A subscription inventory with inline guidance on every field.
- A yearly run-rate and a monthly equivalent, with cost per seat, and each billing period
normalised first so a quarterly bill is never mistaken for a monthly one.
- Duplicate-job detection across 31 categories of business software, showing what consolidating
onto the cheapest tool would free up each year.
- A renewal calendar at 30, 60 and 90 days, so nothing renews unnoticed.
- A ranked cut list that shows the reasons behind every position, so you can disagree with it.
- Export to a Markdown memo for a partner, an accountant or a board, plus CSV and JSON.
Privacy, by design:
- Everything you enter stays in your browser. StackTrim makes no network requests and keeps no
account.
- It asks for a single permission, local storage, used only to keep your stack so it survives
closing the tab.
- It records what a tool costs, never how you pay for it. There is no field for a card number, a
bank detail or a password, and nothing is ever sent anywhere.
Every figure is arithmetic on the numbers you enter.
StackTrim gives no financial, tax or investment advice.
It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any software vendor, and it bundles no
vendor list and no pricing data, so it has no opinion about which tools you should buy.
