About Sorted

Can't choose what to watch? One key picks a title for you, and says why. For Netflix and Prime Video. The IMDb rating on every card, and everything below your bar fades out. Free for 7 days, then one payment, no subscription. 98.8% coverage on 430 real titles. No account, no tracking. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ You pay for two streaming services and still can't decide what to watch. Sorted does one thing about that: it removes the friction from choosing and watching. Everything below is how that gets done, not a list of separate features. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ DECIDING • Can't choose? One key picks a title, and tells you why it picked it • The IMDb rating on every card, colour-coded to thresholds you set • Everything below your bar fades back — nothing is removed, nothing is hidden from you, and hovering a faded card brings it straight back • Filter by rating, by length, by film or series, and by genre • Netflix files its catalogue under 184 numbered categories and surfaces a fraction of them. All 184 are one keystroke away • Rank any category by rating, all of it with one press, with its Top 10 on top Two rules the picker follows, because they are the difference between a shortlist and a coin toss: It is weighted, not random. A 9.2 from 400 votes does not beat an 8.4 from 800,000 — thin ratings are shrunk toward the mean before the draw, the same correction IMDb applies to its own charts. It draws from your whole catalogue, not the screen. A filter like "7.5 or better, a film, under 100 minutes" passes roughly 3% of titles, and 3% of one screenful is one title, often none. Sorted notes every title on every page you open — noting a title is free; looking it up is not — so the pool is large enough for the filter to mean something. To know every title, it also reads each service's own list of what is in each category, in your own signed-in session. This starts by itself once, a few minutes after your first visit. On Netflix it asks through a Netflix tab you already have open, or through one background tab it opens and closes again. If Netflix won't answer, it reads the category pages instead, in one window behind yours that says what it is doing, has a Stop button and closes by itself. On Prime Video it reads from the tab you are on, one page a second. Every read after the first is a button you press. It is not a recommender. It does not learn your taste or predict what you will like. It shows you public evidence and removes what fails your own bar. That is a different thing, and it is on purpose. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WATCHING Choosing is half the friction. The other half starts when you press play. • Skip intros, recaps and credits — automatically, if you want them to be (credits are off by default, because that one is a decision, not a preference) • Playback speed from 0.75× to 2× • Subtitle size, position and typeface — only fonts your machine actually has, measured, so you are never offered one that would silently render as something else • Stop the hover previews and the billboard trailer from playing on their own • A frosted control panel over the player. Drag it anywhere, double-click to put it back. It fades after three seconds like the player's own controls ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 98.8% COVERAGE, MEASURED Measured against 430 real titles from a live homepage — heavy in Korean drama, Tamil and Telugu cinema, and anime, the kind of catalogue that breaks name matching. 425 of the 430 resolved to a rating. A commercial ratings API returned 86% on the same 430. The gap was almost never missing data. It was alias resolution: the streaming service says "Laapataa Ladies", IMDb says "Lost Ladies". 24 of those 425 matched under a different name. The badge tooltip names the IMDb title and year it matched, so a wrong match is visible rather than silent, and a single button forces a fresh resolution. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ NO ACCOUNT, NO TRACKING, NO SERVER There is no sign-up, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting and no server operated by us. Your settings, filters and picks stay in your browser. Two kinds of request leave it, and neither carries anything about you: IMDb's public ratings files are downloaded from IMDb, and when a streaming service and IMDb name a title differently, that title's name is looked up with IMDb, once. Full detail in the privacy policy. Sorted never writes to your streaming account. No list is edited, nothing is removed, no viewing history is changed. It never reads or transmits your credentials or session, and it never reads the text of your subtitles — it only restyles them. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT WORKS WHERE Netflix — everything. Prime Video — ratings, filters, the picker and hidden categories. Tested on primevideo.com. Where Prime Video opens inside Amazon's own site, it hasn't been tested yet, so use the 7 free days to check before you buy. Nothing else is claimed. If it is not on this list, it has not been tested. We would rather say that than round it up. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRICE 7 days free, everything unlocked, no card required. The 7 days are counted from the first time you open Netflix or Prime Video with Sorted installed. After that, you keep one pick a day. Everything else, the IMDb ratings included, needs a key. Unlimited picks, filters, all 184 categories and the player controls come with a licence key: one payment, not a subscription, with every future update included. Your settings are kept, so a key picks up where you left off. Keys are sold at showsorted.com and arrive by email with your receipt. If it isn't for you, email within 14 days of buying for a full refund, no questions asked. The price is on showsorted.com, and it is lowest at launch. Why it costs anything, since there is no server bill hiding in the number: stre…
