The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.

About SnapBox – Open Multiple Links with Right-Click Drag

SnapBox speeds up repetitive actions on websites. Open multiple links, click buttons, or select checkboxes – simply by dragging with the right mouse button. Unlike the older tools for this gesture, SnapBox is a current Manifest V3 extension under active development, and it goes further: it also selects buttons, checkboxes, radio buttons and images, toggles a whole column of checkboxes in one stroke, opens tiles that carry no link element at all, and paces its tab openings per domain so sites with anti-bot protection don't cut you off. For pages with vertical checkbox lists (e.g., webmail), SnapBox provides an additional checkbox stripe: Select one checkbox, hold Shift, and move the mouse vertically to mark more checkboxes in the same column. --- RIGHT-CLICK DRAG GRID • Open multiple links in new tabs at once • Quickly select checkboxes, buttons, or radio buttons • Open high-resolution image URLs directly from thumbnails (e.g., Amazon, Geizhals) • Optional: Copy links to the clipboard instead of opening them (Shift/Ctrl/Alt) – URLs only, titles only, title + URL, title and URL tab-separated for spreadsheets, or Markdown. Where it fits, the clipboard carries plain text and HTML at once, so Word, Outlook or Notion receive real hyperlinks • After copying, a bar offers the other formats – one click or a single keypress rewrites the clipboard • Domain-based link throttling to prevent IP bans: links are opened in configurable groups per domain with randomized pauses between them • Throttle overlay with live countdown and progress indicator, plus two ways out: open the next group right away and keep pacing after that, or open all remaining tabs at once • Domain list for throttling, readable two ways: throttle everywhere except the listed sites, or only on them. Entries are plain domains – subdomains and paths are included automatically, and a pasted address is trimmed to the domain for you • Tabs always open in the originating browser window, even when switching focus to another window during throttled sessions • Selection respects what is on top: elements underneath an open menu or overlay are not swept in • Overlay links (e.g., Reddit's full-post card links) are automatically detected and skipped, so only visible headlines and buttons are captured • Tiles without a link element: on sites whose cards navigate via JavaScript, a rule can build the target address from an attribute of the tile – the one case where every other tool of this kind comes up empty • Adjustable delay for opening tabs and clicking buttons • Only elements of the same type are selected as the element where the drag started (prevents mixed selections) • Also works with Shadow DOM content • Optional modifier key (Shift/Ctrl/Alt) to activate drag selection --- CHECKBOX STRIPE • Optimized for Gmail, Proton Mail, Fastmail, and Outlook.com • Vertical dragging selects entire checkbox columns • Activation key freely selectable (Shift/Ctrl/Alt) • Two modes: "Toggle" or "Activate only" • Adjustable stripe width • Optional counter displays how many checkboxes are selected --- THEME DETECTION (LIGHT / DARK) • Automatically adapts to light or dark mode • Separate color and contrast settings for both modes • Detects Dark Reader automatically • Preconfigured profiles for Geizhals, GitHub, and Computerbase • Custom site patterns can be created and managed --- CONFIGURATION • Settings save themselves – no Save button to remember, and changes take effect in open tabs right away • Live preview of all changes with sticky test area • Separate testing areas for grid and stripe • Organized options with labeled sub-sections and info tooltips • Adjustable colors and opacity levels • Fine-tuned delay controls for tabs and clicks • Configurable throttle parameters: max tabs per domain, pause range • Choose whether new tabs receive focus --- PRIVACY • No data collection or tracking • Runs fully locally in the browser • No communication with external servers • Automatically disabled on more than 70 banking and payment websites --- USE CASES Research & Reading • Open search results and articles in batches Online Shopping • Compare products and reviews in parallel • Bulk-open product pages without triggering anti-bot protection Email Management • Select and process emails in bulk Admin / CMS Interfaces • Fill out forms faster • Execute batch operations more efficiently --- TECHNICAL DETAILS • Manifest V3 • Shadow DOM support • Stable selection with scroll anchoring • Occlusion test via elementsFromPoint, so a selection cannot reach through an overlay • Responsive UI without page reload • Source window pinning via sender.tab.windowId • Overlay link detection by geometry and content, so a cover image inside a link is not mistaken for an invisible click surface • Full i18n via _locales with 263 translation keys • Covered by 21 automated test suites with 257 assertions --- LOOKING FOR A LINKCLUMP ALTERNATIVE, OR SNAP LINKS FOR CHROME? Then you are in the right place. Linkclump made this gesture popular on Chrome and is no longer maintained. Snap Links Plus still does it well – but only on Firefox, so the habit does not travel when you move to Chrome, Brave or Edge. SnapBox picks it up where you left off: hold the right mouse button, draw the rectangle, let go. Lassoing checkboxes and radio buttons is here too, and on webmail the checkbox stripe takes it a step further by following a whole column with a single stroke. Built for Manifest V3 and actively maintained. SnapBox is an independent extension and not affiliated with either project. --- GETTING STARTED Works immediately after installation. Advanced configuration available in the options page with live preview. --- LANGUAGES English and German.
