About Slow Dopamine: Website Blocker & Time Limit

Slow Dopamine is a free website blocker, social media blocker and time limiter for Chrome. Cut off a distracting site completely, give yourself a few minutes on it before it locks for a cooldown, or make yourself pause before it opens. Block cheap dopamine. Build instead. Social media and video feeds are built for cheap dopamine: easy to start, hard to stop. Slow Dopamine puts friction in front of the sites that eat your day and leaves the rest of the web alone. You choose how strict to be with each site. BLOCK COMPLETELY The site never loads. You get one of 50 short quotes from founders and builders instead. TIME LIMIT WITH A COOLDOWN Allow a short window, for example 5 minutes, then the site locks for a cooldown you choose. • Only time with the site visible on screen counts. Background tabs and minimized windows don't. • A small timer in the corner shows what's left. Drag it anywhere. • When time runs out, every tab of that site locks. Reloading doesn't reset it. • Stay away for the whole cooldown on your own and your full time comes back. PAUSE BEFORE YOU SCROLL A mindful pause: before the site opens, a calm screen asks "Why are you here?" and waits 5 seconds (1 to 300, your call). Often the honest answer is to close the tab. Ask on every visit or only after time away, and see how often you turned back over the last 7 days. 45-SECOND COOL-OFF Loosening a limit (turning a mode off, more time, a shorter lock, removing a site) first makes you wait 45 seconds. Tightening is always instant. Most urges don't last that long. SCREEN TIME See today, yesterday and your daily average across your list, plus a 7-day chart for each site. History stays for 30 days. IN YOUR LANGUAGE English, Türkçe, Deutsch, Español, Français or Português (Brasil): pick one from the flag on the dashboard. Every screen follows, the 50 quotes included. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no analytics, no ads. Your list, your settings and your screen time never leave your browser. WHO IT'S FOR Founders, developers, students and anyone who wants to stop doomscrolling, stay focused and get back to deep work. Works with any website you add. YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and X are one click away.
