About SkillPiece
SkillPiece turns what you read into knowledge you can explain.
To create learning material and feedback, SkillPiece requires a working AI model. Connect a compatible remote AI provider, use your own local model server, or try Chrome's experimental on-device model. SkillPiece does not include hosted AI or API credits.
LEARN FROM WHAT YOU READ
Capture useful ideas from articles and web pages, keep their source context, and practise explaining them in your own words.
Import supported documents, including PDF, DOCX, TXT, and Markdown, into a Topic for source-grounded learning. Documents are processed locally before the text you choose to capture is sent to your selected model.
REMEMBER WHAT MATTERS
Get focused feedback on what your explanation covered and what needs strengthening. Return to ideas through spaced review, organise your learning into Topics, and rehearse whenever you want.
Use Focus for a clean, local reading experience without saving or sending the page.
Export Topics for transfer to another SkillPiece installation or create readable PDFs.
CHOOSE HOW SKILLPIECE THINKS
Connect a compatible remote AI provider, use your own local model server or compatible endpoint, or try Chrome's experimental on-device model.
No SkillPiece account is required. Remote providers may require their own account, API key, model access, and separate usage charges. Your API keys stay in local browser storage across restarts and are never synced or included in exports.
Chrome's experimental on-device model requires a supported computer and may be slower or produce simpler answers.
YOUR KNOWLEDGE STAYS YOURS
Your learning library stays in your browser profile. SkillPiece has no learning-data backend, analytics, advertising, or telemetry.
Model requests happen only after you explicitly ask SkillPiece to perform an action. When you use a remote provider, the disclosed text is sent directly to the endpoint you configure. SkillPiece does not receive a copy.
SkillPiece is currently in beta testing.
