The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About SixSentences Browser Capture
SixSentences Browser Capture saves the source you are actively viewing to your SixSentences Library when you click its toolbar button.
For the current active HTTPS tab, it can save the source and canonical URLs, title, site name, authors, publication date, DOI, description, bounded bibliographic metadata and text you explicitly selected. When the active scholarly page offers an exact, verifiable PDF, Browser Capture can also attach that PDF to the saved Library item.
Browser Capture never runs passive browsing collection. It does not collect browser history, read passwords, copy request headers, or transmit the full page DOM. It never reads, stores or sends cookie or browser-session values to SixSentences. For an exact PDF request that you explicitly trigger on the active publisher page, Chrome may attach existing publisher credentials only to the same publisher origin; redirects are rejected and credentials are never forwarded cross-origin.
Each save is sent over HTTPS to api.sixsentences.com and associated with the SixSentences account you connected. The extension uses no advertising or cross-site tracking and does not sell captured data. Saved sources remain under your Library controls and can be edited or deleted.
Features:
• Save a paper citation or web source from the active tab.
• Preserve common scholarly metadata and explicitly selected passages.
• Attach exact, verified PDFs from supported public or authenticated publisher pages when the source permits it.
• Detect duplicate items without silently creating extra copies.
• Disconnect the browser and revoke its scoped credential at any time.
A SixSentences account is required. Publisher access restrictions still apply; Browser Capture does not bypass paywalls, redirects or protected downloads.
Browser Capture is free to install. The SixSentences service and optional paid subscriptions are currently offered to customers in Germany. SixSentences—not Google—is the seller.
