The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Six7
Six7 adds temporary private messaging and peer-to-peer file sharing to YouTube watch pages.
Privacy upfront: Six7 uses your visible YouTube @handle as your room identity. Direct messages are peer-to-peer when connected. Six7 does not store chat messages or files on a Six7 server. Cloudflare infrastructure is used only for limited presence, rendezvous, and signaling, not message or file storage.
Chat privately with other Six7 users in the same YouTube room without posting your contact info publicly. Six7 is built for quick, in-the-moment conversations during a live chat or replay session.
Six7 also supports simple peer-to-peer file sharing. Use the paperclip button, the other person accepts, and the file transfers directly between peers.
Features:
• Private DMs between Six7 users in the same YouTube room
• Temporary room-based sessions
• Peer-to-peer messaging
• Simple peer-to-peer file sharing
• Uses your visible YouTube @handle as your Six7 room identity
• No public contact drops
• No stored chat messages on a Six7 server
• No server-hosted file storage
• Free to use
Version 2.0.6
Six7 v2.0.6 focuses on connection continuity, responsive YouTube layout handling, relationship controls, and chat usability.
Highlights include:
Added live typing indicators over the existing SYS connection
Improved block and unblock handling without disturbing room-wide SYS infrastructure
Fixed false peer departures when YouTube moves live chat between side-panel and under-video layouts
Added same-room chat-frame recovery so responsive layout changes no longer interrupt active connections
Preserved active messaging while resizing the browser repeatedly in either direction
Improved composer cleanup during reconnecting and terminal states
Refined chat message presentation, connection status styling, and Chats view contrast
Additional SYS routing, membership, recovery, and lifecycle stability improvements
This release builds on the deterministic lifecycle work in v2.0.5 with stronger connection continuity and a smoother chat experience across YouTube’s responsive layouts.
