Silas — Scam & Misinformation Protection

Silas is a Chrome extension designed to be installed on a parent or grandparent's computer — by you. TWO SHIELDS IN ONE EXTENSION + Scam Protection Detects and flags tech support fraud, fake prize pages, IRS impersonators, phishing URLs, gift card payment requests, and 15+ other patterns that commonly target older adults. Links every warning to the FTC Scam Guide. + Misinformation Context Quietly surfaces the bias rating and factual accuracy of known news sources. When your parent reads a story on a flagged source, Silas shows a gentle banner with links to how AP News, Reuters, and PBS are covering the same story — without telling anyone what to think. HOW IT WORKS - Install it on their browser in 90 seconds - Silas runs silently in the background on every page - A small banner appears when something needs attention - Every banner is dismissible in one click - Nothing is ever blocked PRIVACY FIRST Silas has no backend. All analysis happens entirely on-device. No browsing data is ever collected, stored, or transmitted. See our full privacy policy at usesilas.com/privacy.
