The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About SideView — Browse in Side Panel
Open any website in a persistent sidebar, so you can browse, watch, research, take notes, and more without leaving your current tab.
Keep a second website open beside your current tab — docs next to your editor, ChatGPT next to a spec, Wikipedia next to the essay you’re writing. The sidebar stays put as you move around.
Browse from the sidebar
• Address bar for URLs and search
• Back, forward, reload, and home
• Multiple sidebar tabs, restored when you return
• Drag a link onto the panel to open it
Get there faster
• Pinned sites on a start page
• Recent sidebar pages
• Right-click a link, page, or highlighted text
• Press Alt+O to open SideView
• Press Alt+Shift+O to send the current tab into the sidebar
• Type “sv” in the omnibox, then a URL or search
Stay in control
• Dark, light, or system theme
• Choose which search engine the sidebar address bar uses
• Chrome bookmarks and history, opened in the sidebar
• Optional mobile layout for the narrow panel
• Open the sidebar page in a new tab or a popped-out window
• Pins, recents, and session stay on your device
Some websites still refuse to be framed. SideView retries in compatibility mode, then you can open the page in a tab or pop-out from the menu.
SideView does not require an account and does not send your browsing data to a SideView server.
