SheerBlock helps you reduce distractions in Chrome by blocking websites you choose, URLs containing specific keywords, and preset website categories. It’s free, with no cap on the number of websites you can add to your custom block list. BLOCK WEBSITES IN ONE CLICK Add the website you’re visiting directly from the extension popup. Website blocking covers the domain and its subdomains. Manage or remove your saved websites through the settings dashboard. BLOCK URL KEYWORDS Add a single-word keyword to block URLs containing it, including search queries. Matching is case-insensitive and checks the URL—not the text on the page. CHOOSE FROM NINE CATEGORIES Turn on preset lists for Social, Adult, News, Shopping, Gambling, Sports, Games, Finance, and Media. Each category blocks the websites in its catalog. Category selections apply to your current Chrome profile. STAY IN CONTROL Pause all blocking and resume whenever you’re ready. Your saved list and category selections stay in place. You can also turn custom-list blocking off while keeping selected categories active. SIMPLE SETUP Sign in with Google, add websites or keywords, and choose the categories you want to block. Use the dashboard to manage your custom list. PRIVACY SheerBlock does not collect your browsing history or record which pages you visit. Your custom block list is saved through an online service linked to your account.
