The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About SharePassword
Use saved website logins without leaving your SharePassword Vault. Unlock with a Vault-bound passkey, check the matching account, then choose when to fill.
Browse your personal and shared Vaults even when no website is open. Search logins, API keys, secure notes and file names, filter by Vault or category, and choose when to reveal or copy a value. Open the full web Vault to edit items, download files or manage version history.
Use a saved login
- Find logins for the exact HTTPS website you have open.
- Search and select an account, review its details, and choose Fill login.
- Explicit selection can also fill a clear password-only sign-in step or an accessible login frame on the exact same HTTPS origin.
- Filling never submits the website form.
- Optional automatic filling is available only for sites you approve and only when there is exactly one matching login.
Create a login
- Enter your username or email on a supported signup form.
- Choose Save login, then Generate & save. To use the small SharePassword icon inside compatible fields, choose Show icon for that site and focus a compatible login, signup username or new-password field. The icon moves beside the field if there is too little space or another control occupies it. Its Generate & save to Vault action authorizes filling and saving together.
- A random password is encrypted locally and saved to your personal Vault. Generation defaults to 24 characters with upper/lowercase, digits and symbols, and adapts to compatible website alphabets, character-class requirements and length limits (16–128 characters). Complex or restrictive rules are refused.
- An existing login is never overwritten by generation. Incompatible password policies are refused. Wait for the saved confirmation, then submit the form yourself; SharePassword never submits it.
- You can also review and save a password you entered yourself.
Keep control of access
- Vault credentials are decrypted on your device while the extension is unlocked.
- In-page suggestions and automatic filling are optional, per-site settings.
- Site access is requested when you enable a site feature, not as blanket access on installation.
- The extension clears its session when you lock, become idle, reach the session limit, or the browser suspends its background worker.
Requirements and limits
- Desktop Chrome 127 or later. The Chrome extension does not run on iPhone or Android Chrome; a phone's “Add to desktop” installs it on the computer. SharePassword does not yet provide a Safari extension, iOS Password AutoFill, or Android system autofill. The web Vault remains a separate mobile surface.
- A SharePassword account and a passkey bound to your Vault that supports WebAuthn PRF. A passkey that only signs you in may not unlock encrypted Vault data.
- Explicit saved-login filling supports visible, eligible forms in the main page and accessible frames on its exact HTTPS origin. Sandboxed, inline, cross-origin or unverified navigated frames are refused. Shadow-root forms, cross-origin form submissions, HTTP pages, and password-change forms are not supported.
- Password generation, login review, automatic filling and in-page suggestions support the main page only.
- Signup generation requires new-password hints or clear registration metadata, an entered username/email and compatible password fields.
- Password-only filling requires selecting an account explicitly and a clear sign-in form. SharePassword does not remember the username from an earlier page. For a manually entered login, review and confirm saving before submitting; there is no post-submit save banner.
- The extension does not replace Google or Apple password-manager menus.
