About SERP Traffic — estimated visits per result
See what every Google result is actually worth.
SERP Traffic adds one line under each organic result on a Google search page: the visits that result is modelled to earn from the query you just typed, and what the same visits would cost to buy on Google Ads.
It also adds one strip at the top of the page with the facts about the search term itself — how many people search it a month, what advertisers pay per click for it, and how contested it is. If you are deciding what to bid on a keyword, that is the number, and you get it without leaving the results page.
HOW THE NUMBER IS MADE
There is no proprietary model and nothing hidden. It is one multiplication:
estimated monthly visits = monthly search volume x click-through rate for that position
Search volume and cost per click come from Google Ads data. Click-through rates come from published studies — Backlinko (2023, ~4M searches) and Sistrix (2020, ~80M keywords), blended. Hover any badge and it names the study behind each half of the sum.
IT KNOWS ABOUT YOUR AI OVERVIEW
This is the part no server-side tool can do. Google personalises and tests where AI Overviews appear, so the results page a data centre was shown is not reliably the results page you were shown.
SERP Traffic reads the page in front of you. When an AI Overview is on it, the badges turn amber and every estimate drops, because organic results measurably lose clicks on those pages. If your search had one, the numbers account for it.
WHAT IT IS NOT
- It is not a measurement. Nobody outside Google can measure another site's clicks. Every badge says "modelled" and every tooltip names its sources.
- The cost per click is what advertisers pay, not what organic traffic earns you. Nobody bills you when someone arrives from an organic result. It is shown as a purchase price for the same traffic, which is a useful comparison and not a revenue figure.
- It is not site-wide traffic. It estimates what a result earns from the one query on screen. A site-wide figure needs a measurement panel or a licensed index, and anyone offering you one cheaply is guessing.
- It gives no estimate below position 10. The published click-through curves get unreliable past page one, and a small invented number would look more useful while being worth less.
PRIVACY
The search query you type is sent to seodata.dev to look up its monthly search volume. That is the only thing that leaves your browser. Not the results, not the pages you visit, not your history, and nothing identifying you. Volumes are cached locally for a week, so a repeated query costs no request at all. No account, no login, no tracking.
FREE, NO ACCOUNT
Works immediately with no sign-up. Heavy users can add their own seodata.dev key in the settings.
