The OCR engine and language data are packaged with the extension. A standard Screencap account currently includes: • 1 GB of cloud storage • Random, unlisted public share links • No account requirement for people viewing your link • A searchable list of your uploaded screenshots • The ability to reopen supported uploaded screenshots in the Screencap editor Anyone who obtains an unlisted link can view and forward it, so do not treat an unlisted link as private access control. ⌨️ Keyboard Shortcuts • Alt + Shift + A — Select area • Alt + Shift + S — Capture visible page • Escape — Cancel or close • Delete / Backspace — Remove the selected annotation 🔒 Local-First by Default Capturing, editing, copying, downloading, and running English OCR do not upload your screenshot. A screenshot leaves your device only when you explicitly choose Upload. Cloud uploads are associated with your Screencap account, may be checked by an image-moderation provider, and are stored so Screencap can create the share link. Screencap does not automatically attach the source page URL, page title, or extracted OCR text to an uploaded screenshot.
