Scholar Red Flag

Scholar Red Flag helps you review publication authorship directly on Google Scholar profiles. The extension compares the profile name with the author names displayed for each loaded publication and adds clear labels: • Green: Full name present or possible name match. • Yellow: Author list incomplete or ambiguous. • Red: Name not found — manual review suggested. It also shows the number of papers flagged for review, their combined Google Scholar citation count, and their share of the profile’s total citations. Checks run locally in your browser. No external data providers, account, API key or subscription are required. Profile data is not transmitted by the extension. Only publications currently loaded on the page are checked. Load more publications using Google Scholar’s “Show more” button to extend the check. Alternative publishing names can be added under “Names and method”. Results are preliminary name checks, not proof of incorrect authorship or research misconduct. Abbreviated names, name changes and incomplete author lists can affect results.
