The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Scam Blocker & Ad Blocker — Adless
Adless is a scam blocker and ad blocker for people who want fewer
distractions and more warning before a risky click. It blocks ads, pop-up
and pop-under ad networks, and trackers with Chrome's own engine, helps
steer you away from phishing and scam pages before they cause trouble, and
tidies YouTube — hide the Shorts shelf, set how many videos per row, and
boost the volume on videos that were mixed too quietly — all on your device.
It shows no ads of its own, never nags you, and it builds no profile of you:
nothing about your browsing leaves your browser unless you tap Send on a
report, or switch on the optional "Help protect others" scam report
described below.

🚫 ELIMINATE ADS & TRACKERS — FREE FOREVER
──────────────────────────────────────────────
Adless removes ads, trackers, and known malicious hosts using Chrome's built-in
declarativeNetRequest engine. Your requests never pass through our code, and no
URL you visit is ever logged or sent to us.
Camouflage, our anti-adblock countermeasure, keeps blocking alive on the sites
that fight ad blockers hardest — free, and staying free. It activates only on
sites known to run anti-adblock walls and deliberately stays away from login,
banking, and checkout pages.
Need an exception? Pause Adless on any site with one click — permanently, or
for just 24 hours.

📺 YOUTUBE VOLUME BOOSTER & LAYOUT TIDY — FREE
──────────────────────────────────────────────
✓ Volume booster — boost quiet videos up to 3× louder, even when the
player's own slider is already at maximum. The gain runs in your
browser's audio pipeline, on your device. It stays off until you move the
slider, at its lowest setting your audio is completely untouched, and it
re-applies itself as you move between videos, including Shorts and the
miniplayer.
✓ Videos per row — set your own grid density: 3 to 8 videos per row, 3 to 8
community posts per row, 4 to 10 Shorts per row.
✓ Hide the Shorts shelf so Home is just videos again, and fix oversized
thumbnails.
✓ Hide the AI "Ask" button, the Playables games shelf and the notification
bell — and stop long video titles being truncated.
✓ Hide promoted videos and shopping shelves — an opt-in tidy, off until you
switch it on, that removes the promoted tiles from Home, Search and the
watch sidebar, plus merch and product shelves. It does not remove the ads
played inside videos: those come from the site's own servers, and network
blocking has nothing to catch there.
✓ Your choices survive YouTube's own redesigns. Fixes ship as remote data
within 24 hours, so a breakage heals without an update to install or a
store-review wait.

🛡 SECURITY SHIELD — PHISHING & SCAM PROTECTION
──────────────────────────────────────────────
Adless checks the sites you open against a database of 550,000+ known phishing
and malware web addresses, refreshed every 6 hours. Matching runs entirely on
your device — checking a page costs no network request, and no address is sent
anywhere to look it up. Curated site-level blocking is included free and
switched on; full address-level matching against the whole feed is Pro. Every
warning is shown in your own language — 12 languages.
✓ Scare-page Shield (Pro) — spots fake "your PC is infected" tech-support
pages and covers them with a dismissible warning you can leave from. It
reacts to the page after it has loaded — it does not block the page in
advance, and we do not claim it does.
✓ Lookalike-domain detection (Pro) — flags homograph and impersonation
domains on your device.
✓ Credential Sentry (Pro) — warns you before you type a password into a
lookalike login page.
✓ Seed-phrase guard (Pro) — blocks pages fishing for a crypto-wallet
recovery phrase.
✓ Fake-checkout Shield (Pro) — warns you when a page presents itself as a
major brand while collecting raw card numbers on a domain that brand does
not own.
✓ Paste-and-run protection (Pro) — catches the "press Win+R and paste this"
lure that talks people into running an attacker's command themselves.
✓ Clipboard-swap protection (Pro) — stops a malicious page from silently
rewriting an address or wallet you copied.

🤝 HELP PROTECT OTHERS — OPTIONAL, OFF BY DEFAULT
──────────────────────────────────────────────
Brand-new scam sites are the gap every blocklist has: a domain registered this
morning is on no public feed yet. Adless can help close that gap — but only if
you switch this on.
If you turn it on, then whenever one of the Shield's scam checks fires, Adless
reports two things and nothing else: which check fired (credential sentry,
scare page, seed phrase, fake checkout, paste-and-run, clipboard swap or
brand-clone), and the bare domain it fired on — for example evil-site.com, with
any subdomain stripped. Never the full web address, never the page or its
contents, never your history, never anything you typed or copied, and no
identifier of any kind: nothing in the report says which browser or which
person it came from.
It is off by default and stays off until you say yes. You are asked once, on a
Shield warning card. "No" is final and is never asked again. You can switch it
on or off at any time in Settings → Protection → "Help protect others".
When five reports name the same domain within seven days, that domain enters a
queue a human reviews. Nothing is ever added to Adless's threat lists
automatically.
Straight about the trade: this report protects the next person, not you. Six of
the seven checks send only after they have already warned you, on your device.
The seventh, brand-clone, is still being validated — it reports what it found
without showing you anything, which is exactly why it is named above rather
than left unsaid. Either way this is the on…
