The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Sanctum: Deep Focus & Site Blocker
Sanctum helps you protect your attention by blocking distracting websites and planning focused work sessions.
Choose the sites you want to block, start a focus timer, or create a repeating schedule. Everything is controlled from the extension popup and its settings page.
Features:
- Block the current site from the popup, or add domain and URL rules.
- Choose optional distraction categories.
- Run Pomodoro-style sessions with light, deep, or extreme focus modes.
- Schedule website blocking by weekday and time, including schedules that cross midnight.
- Combine multiple schedules. Sites covered by an active site-specific schedule cannot be temporarily unlocked while that schedule is active.
- Add a deliberate pause before temporary access where the selected blocking mode permits it.
- Protect supported rule and setting changes with a protection password.
- Review focus sessions and blocked-site statistics, and export extension data.
- Use the interface in English, Simplified Chinese, German, Spanish, Arabic, or Japanese.
Data and privacy:
Blocking decisions run in the browser. Sanctum has no developer-operated backend for its current blocking features and does not send page text or browsing history to the developer.
Focus sessions, schedules, settings, and blocking statistics use Chrome extension storage. Blocking rules and protection-password hashes use Chrome's storage.sync API and may be synchronized by Chrome according to your browser sync settings. This is distinct from a Sanctum account or a Sanctum cloud service.
An optional enhanced page scan is disabled by default. When enabled, it analyzes the page URL, title, metadata, headings, and limited page text on your device to detect high-confidence adult-content signals. It excludes form fields and editable input areas. Full page text is not stored or uploaded; detected hostnames and related counters may be retained locally for blocking and statistics.
Sanctum does not sell user data or use it for advertising. No Sanctum sign-in or payment is required for this version.
Sanctum is a voluntary focus tool. It does not prevent the user or a device administrator from uninstalling the extension. Scheduled blocking follows the computer's local time; device sleep and Chrome alarm delays may affect when a schedule is applied.
