Sample Extension

Sample Extension is a simple browser add-on designed to demonstrate the basic structure and functionality of a Chrome and Edge WebExtension. It provides a clean, minimal example of how extensions can load, run background logic, store small amounts of data, and display UI elements such as popups. This extension does not modify your browsing experience in any unsafe way. Instead, it serves as a lightweight reference for testing, learning, or validating the publishing workflow across different browser marketplaces. Key Features: Runs a background service worker using Manifest V3 Displays a simple popup UI when the extension icon is clicked Uses the browser storage API to save small pieces of data Includes standard icon assets for Chrome Web Store compliance Compatible with both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge Designed for developers testing extension structures and publishing flows This sample is intentionally minimal, making it easier to understand how browser extensions work. It is useful for learning, onboarding new developers, or testing marketplace publishing requirements without complex logic. No user data is collected, and no external network requests are made. The extension runs entirely locally inside the browser.
