The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Safa Ad & Tracker Blocker
Safa is a clean, privacy-first ad blocker for Chrome. It quietly blocks ads, trackers, and intrusive overlays so pages load calmer and read easier with no accounts, no sign-in, no sync, and no telemetry.
WHAT SAFA DOES
• Blocks ads and trackers using Chrome's declarative network rules, the blocking happens inside the browser engine, so Safa never reads or receives your browsing history.
• Blocks pop-unders outright, including the tab they try to open.
• Removes intrusive overlays (interstitials, pop-ups, and sticky banners) with conservative cosmetic cleanup that aims not to break the sites you use. Cookie and consent notices are left alone by default, so sites that need an answer still work, and you can opt in to hiding them from the options page.
• Respects your choices with a per-site allowlist, a custom blocklist, and four selectable blocking profiles.
• Stays local: your settings live only in your browser and never leave your device.
BLOCKING PROFILES
Pick a preset from the popup or the options page ie Normal, Strict, Nepali News Strict, or Custom. Every profile applies Safa's full ad, tracker, and Nepali-site ruleset. Normal clears only the ad slots Safa has exact rules for; Strict also hides ad and newsletter overlays it has no exact rule for, which catches more but can occasionally hide something you wanted; Custom lets you pair it with your own allowlist and blocklist. Finer per-profile tuning continues.
ONE CALM POPUP
• Turn all blocking on or off with a single toggle.
• Switch your blocking profile.
• Whitelist the current site instantly if something looks off.
• Reload the page in one click after changing a setting.
• See how many requests Safa has filtered, counted only on your device.
FULL CONTROL ON THE OPTIONS PAGE
• Per-site allowlist editor.
• Custom blocklist for your own domains and cosmetic rules.
• Optional cookie-banner hiding, off by default.
• Import and export your settings as JSON.
• One-click reset to safe defaults.
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Safa collects no browsing history, no URLs, and no usage analytics. Your allowlist and blocklist are stored locally in chrome.storage.local and are never transmitted. Ad and tracker blocking runs on Chrome's declarative rules, so the extension itself makes no external requests with your browsing data. There is no account and nothing to sign in to.

BUILT ON MANIFEST V3

What's new in 0.2.7:
Pop-unders are now blocked outright, including the tab they try to open.
Cookie dialogs, language pickers and dropdown menus are no longer hidden by
mistake, so sites that gate their content behind a consent choice stay usable.
Cookie banners can now be hidden from the options page, off by default.
Pausing Safa on a site now also pauses it inside embedded frames.
The popup now offers a one-click reload after you change a blocking setting.
Spanish, French and Portuguese now reach Latin America, Canada and Portugal,
which previously saw English.
What's new in 0.2.6:
The interface is now available in 17 languages, including Nepali and Hindi.
Ads inside iframes are now cleaned up too, which covers embedded ad slots
and feed widgets that earlier versions never reached.
