About Sado — Uzbek subtitles & voice for course videos

Sado translates the English subtitles of the course video you are watching into Uzbek. What it does - Uzbek subtitles over the video. Open a lesson and choose the "Subtitr" (Subtitles) mode in the Sado panel: the translated line appears over the video, optionally with the English original under it. - Uzbek voice in sync with the video. In Chrome the voice comes from Google's Gemini TTS with your own Gemini key (when Gemini is your translation service; the free tier gives about 15–25 minutes of voice a day, and replaying a lesson uses the cache, not the limit). In Microsoft Edge the built-in Uzbek voices Sardor and Madina work for free with no limit. You can also use your own Azure Speech key. While the Uzbek voice speaks, the original audio is muted and the playback speed adapts so the speech stays in sync. - Readable technical terms. A pronunciation dictionary makes the voice say "interface" or "API" the Uzbek way; you can edit it in the settings. - Each lesson is translated once. Translations are cached on your device, so reopening a lesson costs nothing. You can download your Uzbek translation as an SRT or VTT file from the settings. Where it works - Lesson pages on Udemy (including Udemy Business) and master.dev. - Other https sites you enable from the toolbar button (the browser asks for permission first). On Udemy the lesson's English captions are found without turning on CC; if Udemy does not list them, the panel says what to do. What you need - An API key for a translation service. The recommended option is your own free Google Gemini API key from Google AI Studio; Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter and Groq keys also work. Requests go directly from your browser to that service, and any costs are between you and the service. - The Gemini API may be used only by people aged 18 or over. On the free tier, Google may use the submitted text to improve its products. Privacy - No analytics, no tracking, no server of ours. - When you set up the translation service, Sado names who receives what and asks for your consent: the lesson's subtitle text goes to the translation service you chose; the Uzbek text goes to Google (with the same Gemini key) when Gemini TTS reads it in Chrome, or to Microsoft when an Edge online voice or Azure reads it. - Your API keys, the translation cache and the voice cache stay on your device.
