DETAILED DESCRIPTION RSS Reader brings RSS/Atom feeds and Telegram sources into a convenient reader with a three-column interface and a journal view. Organize subscriptions into folders, read news, save important articles and customize your reading experience. New in v1.22.0: • Saved reading positions for individual articles. • Original text and translation side by side. • Colored text highlights and a searchable global list of saved passages. • Expanded command, feed and folder search through Ctrl+K. • Custom short names, colors and emoji for sources. • Journal photo ratios, column counts and a featured first story. • Manual synchronization of subscriptions, folders and selected preferences through Chrome Sync. Synchronization is user-triggered: upload a snapshot on one computer, then preview and apply it on another. Requires the same Google account, enabled Chrome synchronization and the same extension identity. Snapshots are limited to 30 KB. Articles, read status, favorites, notes, highlights and Telegram login data are not synchronized. Telegram account sign-in requires your own api_id and api_hash. Translation sends article text to Google Translate. Reading positions are approximate; changes to text, fonts or images may affect restoration accuracy. SINGLE PURPOSE DESCRIPTION RSS Reader helps users read and organize RSS/Atom feeds and selected Telegram channels and groups in one reader, with folders, saved articles, translation, highlights, reading positions and optional manual synchronization of subscriptions and preferences. STORAGE JUSTIFICATION The storage permission saves subscriptions, folders, articles, read status, favorites, notes, highlights, reading positions and preferences locally. When the user explicitly uploads a synchronization snapshot, chrome.storage.sync stores public-source subscriptions, folder names and selected preferences for use across their synced Chrome browsers. Account credentials, Telegram account sources, articles and reading activity are excluded from synchronization. PARAGRAPH TO ADD TO THE PRIVACY POLICY Optional Chrome Sync: when you select “Upload snapshot,” RSS Reader stores a snapshot of public-source subscriptions, folder names and selected reading and appearance preferences in Chrome’s synchronization storage. The snapshot is limited to 30 KB. Feed URLs may contain private tokens, so review your subscriptions before uploading. Telegram account sources, credentials, sessions, articles, read status, favorites, notes and highlights are excluded. You can preview and apply the snapshot on another synced Chrome browser or remove it through the extension. Reading positions and colored highlights are stored locally and may be included in user-created JSON backups. Side-by-side translation sends the requested article text to Google Translate.
