Rotten Tomatoes Hidden Audience Score

Restores the old Rotten Tomatoes audience rating by presenting critics, verified and hidden audience scores side by side. The hidden score represents organic online reviewers, those who make the effort to visit Rotten Tomatoes directly rather than being prompted by a ticketing app. The Verified Audience score was introduced in 2019. Due to statistical biases inherent in the collection methodology, it may artificially inflate ratings and potentially mislead viewers. The Verified score is primarily built through Fandango, a ticketing company that owns Rotten Tomatoes. Warner Bros. Discovery and Comcast-affiliated Versant hold significant stakes in the same parent company. The verification system is limited to US theatrical releases, excluding international audiences. The extension uses the official Rotten Tomatoes data already embedded in each page. It isolates the unverified vote by subtracting the Verified Audience likes and dislikes from the All Audience likes and dislikes, then calculates a fresh percentage from those remaining votes alone. Rotten Tomatoes is a fantastic platform and its unique approach to aggregating critical and audience sentiment helps millions make informed viewing decisions every day. This extension simply ensures you get the full Rotten Tomatoes experience. Even intense audience reactions, sometimes labelled as review bombing, carry their own valuable signal about how a film truly resonates, and they remain visible alongside the critics and verified scores without ever interfering with them.
