About Rence Browser
Rence Browser connects the Rence desktop app to Chrome, so the Rence agent can do web tasks for you in your own browser, using the website logins you already have.
WHAT IT DOES
• Opens its own tabs in a clearly labelled "Rence" tab group, and can also work in your existing tabs on websites you have allowed or in tabs you share with it.
• Share any tab from the extension's popup or its right-click menu ("Share this tab with Rence"). A share covers that tab on its current site; leaving the site or choosing Stop sharing ends it immediately.
• Lets the agent read pages, click, type, scroll and navigate in those tabs, so it can finish tasks like looking up information, comparing options, filling in forms or preparing drafts.
YOU STAY IN CONTROL
• You choose which websites Rence may use. When the agent needs a new site, the task pauses and the Rence chat asks you: allow it for this chat only, always allow that site, or deny.
• Optionally, "Allow all websites" lets Rence use every ordinary tab in this Chrome profile without asking per site. It is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time.
• Blocked websites are never used, even when shared or when all websites are allowed.
• Rence never uses incognito tabs, Chrome settings pages, other extensions or the Chrome Web Store.
• You can stop the agent or stop sharing at any time. Chrome shows its standard "is debugging this browser" bar whenever the agent is working in a tab.
REQUIREMENTS
• The Rence desktop app and a Rence account. The extension does nothing on its own; it only talks to the Rence app installed on your computer, through Chrome's native messaging.
PRIVACY
• The extension has no servers of its own and does not sell or share your data. It cannot read or change your cookies or browser storage. Page content is only read while the agent works on a task you started, only in tabs Rence opened, tabs on sites you allowed or tabs you shared, and is sent only to your Rence app. Read more at https://www.rence.ai/privacy
PERMISSIONS
• debugger: to control the tabs Rence works in (read pages, click and type) while a task runs.
• tabs and tabGroups: to open, find and group the tabs Rence works in, and to list your tabs on allowed sites so you and the agent can pick one.
• contextMenus: to add "Share this tab with Rence" and "Stop sharing this tab with Rence" to the right-click menu.
• nativeMessaging: to talk to the Rence desktop app on your computer.
• storage and alarms: to remember your settings and shared tabs and keep the connection to the app alive.
