Real Video Controls for Instagram Reels, Stories & Feed – Reels Scrubber

⚡ WORKING SEPTEMBER 2026: Fully updated to handle the recent Instagram layout changes that broke older video controllers. Persistent audio and scrubbing are fully functional. Reels Scrubber re-enables native HTML5 video controls on Instagram, restoring the seek bar and volume slider that Instagram removes by default. If you've had to rewatch a Reel from the beginning because there's no scrubber, or watched Instagram silently re-mute your audio mid-scroll, this extension fixes both. CORE FEATURES — FREE FOREVER: - Seek Bar / Video Scrubber: Jump to any moment in a supported Instagram video instantly. No more rewatching from the start. - Volume Control: Set your preferred volume directly on the video player layout. - Playback Speed: Watch at 0.5×, 1.5×, 2×, or any speed your browser natively supports. - Fullscreen: Watch any video fullscreen — including Reels. - Feature Menu: Press ? on Instagram (or use the corner button) to see everything the extension does and what's free vs. Pro. - Enable / Disable Toggle: Turn the controller on or off from your extension toolbar popup at any time. NEW — REELS SCRUBBER PRO (OPTIONAL): - HD Video: Stops Instagram lowering your video quality — full resolution on Reels, Stories, and the feed. - Download Videos: Save any reel or post to your device from the ⋮ menu on the player. Comes with HD. - Keyboard Shortcuts: A / S / D to seek back, play-pause, and seek forward. M to mute, F for fullscreen. - Auto-Scroll Reels: Automatically moves to the next Reel when the current one ends — hands-free watching. - Speed & Volume Memory: Set your preferred speed and volume once — they're applied to every video automatically. - Loop Sections: Set in/out points to replay any moment on repeat. Perfect for tutorials, dance moves, and music. - And more coming soon — Pro funds ongoing development. Try Pro free for 7 days then $3.99/month, or $39.90/year (2 months free). Checkout is handled securely by Stripe, and you can cancel anytime from the extension popup. Every core feature stays free forever. Pro never paywalls existing functionality. WHERE IT WORKS: - Home Feed: (instagram.com/) - Individual Reels: (/reels/ and /reel/) - Single Post Pages: (/p/) - Profile Reels Tab: (/username/reels/) - Stories Viewer: Fully optimized to handle custom tap shields and overlay styles unique to Instagram Stories. HOW TO USE IT: 1. Install the extension — controls activate automatically, even in Instagram tabs you already have open. 2. Open any Instagram page with video content. 3. Native video controls appear automatically on supported views. Use the toolbar popup to toggle the controller on or off without uninstalling. TECHNICAL & USAGE NOTES: - Targeted Environment: This extension operates exclusively on the targeted instagram.com pages listed above. It does not inject into or support Instagram video embeds on third-party websites. - HD on Discovery & profile posts: these briefly play in standard quality, then switch to HD — that's normal. - Anonymous Diagnostics: The extension sends anonymous diagnostic events (patch failures, extension version) to help detect Instagram breakages faster. No personal data, account info, or browsing history is ever collected. You can opt out at any time from the extension popup. - Pro Purchases: Bought Pro on another computer? Use "Already purchased? Restore" in the popup with your purchase email to reactivate it on a new install. Legal Notice: Instagram™ is a registered trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.
