About ReadShot: Bookmark Reading Position & Scroll Snapshots
ReadShot lets you save and restore your exact reading position on any webpage. Whether you’re reading a long article, documentation, or a blog post, it captures your scroll position along with helpful context (heading text, nearby paragraph snippets, and page structure details) so you can return to the precise spot you left off.
Each saved position is called a “readshot.” You can:
- Save multiple readshots on the same page
- Give them custom titles, notes, and tags
- Mark favorites for quick access
The popup has four views:
1. Current page’s readshots
2. Recent saves
3. Favorites
4. Searchable library with domain and tag filtering
A dedicated details page shows full information for each readshot, including a visual scroll-position indicator and page metrics. The extension badge displays how many readshots are saved for the current page and updates automatically when you switch tabs.
All readshots are stored locally in your browser.
🔒 Privacy-first
ReadShot works entirely inside your browser. We do not track, collect, upload, or monetize any of your data. Everything stays on your device (and can optionally sync via your browser account if you enable it).
💸 Completely free
No premium tiers, no paywalls, no in-app purchases. All features are available the moment you install.
