The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About ReadLilt - Read Aloud Reader
ReadLilt is a read aloud and text-to-speech extension for Google Chrome. It helps you listen to long articles, web pages, and text-based PDFs while keeping your place in the text.
Use ReadLilt to:
- Listen to long articles while resting your eyes
- Read web pages aloud with the current sentence highlighted
- Turn research pages, newsletters, and documentation into audio
- Pause, resume, and follow progress sentence by sentence
- Read pasted text and text-based PDF files in a focused reader
- Save favorite sentences in a quote notebook
Key features:
- One-click web page read aloud
- Article text extraction
- Current sentence highlighting
- Reading progress and sentence count
- PDF and pasted-text reader
- Favorite sentence marking and copy-all export
- Browser and operating-system voices
- Automatic matching for common text languages when a suitable voice is available
- Free daily reading quota with an optional Pro subscription
ReadLilt works best on article-style pages with selectable text. Browser-protected pages, image-only content, and some highly interactive apps may not expose readable text to extensions. Scanned image PDFs require OCR before they can be read reliably.
A separate mobile-friendly reader at readlilt.com supports pasted text and text-based PDFs on phones and tablets. It does not access the page currently open in a mobile browser.
Voice availability and processing depend on your browser, operating system, and selected voice provider.
