About Raw GitHub HTML Preview
Preview standalone HTML files from GitHub directly in Chrome.
Open an .html or .htm file on raw.githubusercontent.com and it renders automatically. Use the extension popup to switch between View source and Render HTML for the current file and tab.
FEATURES
• Automatic rendering without an extra click, including after a browser restart.
• Supports embedded CSS, inline JavaScript, and images, fonts, and media embedded as data URLs.
• View source applies only to the selected file and tab.
• Works with private repository raw links when GitHub already grants access. The extension cannot grant repository access or renew an expired link.
FOR SELF-CONTAINED HTML
External scripts, stylesheets, fonts, images, API requests, and frames are blocked. Pages that depend on these resources need a normal development server. Opening a matching file runs its inline scripts automatically in an isolated sandbox. Open HTML you trust; scripts can still navigate their own tab.
PRIVACY
The extension processes raw GitHub URLs locally to control previews. Query parameters, including private access tokens, are excluded from the popup and source-view rules. There are no analytics, ads, or extension network requests. The extension does not read, copy, upload, or store response bodies.
Access is limited to https://raw.githubusercontent.com. See the linked privacy policy for details.
Chrome 120 or newer is required.
