About Quiet Reader
Quiet Reader strips a page down to the article and renders it with typography
chosen for long reading — then lets you keep it as a real book.
READING MODE
Click the toolbar icon (or press opt/alt+R) and the page becomes just the text:
no navigation, no sidebars, no ads, no cookie bars, no floating share buttons.
Press Esc or click the icon again to go back. Nothing is changed on the page
itself.
SAVE AS EPUB
One button turns the article into a valid EPUB 3 file, with a generated cover,
a table of contents built from the article's own headings, the author and
source recorded in the metadata, and the article's images embedded. Open it in
Apple Books, Calibre, Kobo, or any other reader.
TYPOGRAPHY YOU CONTROL
• Three typefaces with full Cyrillic and Latin coverage: Inter, Onest, Literata
• Text size from 15 to 34 px
• Three column widths
• Three themes: Night, Umber, Sepia
Your settings are remembered across pages and sessions.
BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY
Quiet Reader does nothing at all until you click it. It stores your preferences
on your own machine and sends nothing anywhere — there is no account, no
tracking, no analytics, no server.
The EPUB is assembled inside your browser
and handed straight to Chrome's downloader.
It also handles older pages that most reader modes give up on, sites that lay
text out in tables with <font> tags and no paragraph markup at all.
