The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.

About Quicksnip — Private Text Expander & Snippets

Stop retyping the same things. Quicksnip turns a short trigger into whatever text you saved behind it. Type /sig and your full email signature appears. Type /addr and your address fills in. Type /avail and a three-line availability reply writes itself. It works in plain input boxes, in multi-line text areas, and in the rich-text editors that webmail, chat and note-taking tools are built on — which is where simpler expanders tend to fail silently. WHY THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT Every other text expander asks you to create an account, then keeps your saved text on their servers. Your signatures, your client replies, your boilerplate — sitting in someone else's database. Quicksnip doesn't have a server. Your snippets are written to your browser's own local storage and stay there. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to sync, and nothing that can leak in someone else's breach. WHAT YOU GET • Instant expansion in normal inputs, textareas and rich-text editors • Placeholders that fill themselves in: {date} today's date {time} the current time {date:+7d} a week from now {date:+1m|DD MMM} offset and formatted however you like {cursor} where the caret should land after expanding • A quick-search popup to find and copy any snippet • Word-boundary protection, so a trigger like "ty" never fires inside "typing" • Password fields are never touched • Per-site exclusions and a one-click off switch • Export and import your snippets as a plain JSON file — they're yours FREE AND PRO Free covers 20 snippets, forever, with every feature above. No trial timer. Pro removes the snippet limit for a single one-time payment. Not a subscription — you pay once and it stays unlocked. PRIVACY, PLAINLY No account. No analytics. No tracking. No data collection of any kind. The extension makes exactly one network request in its entire life, and only if you buy Pro: it checks your license key with our payment processor. That's it. If you never buy Pro, Quicksnip never touches the network.
