The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About QA Studio Pro
QA Studio Pro is a local-first Chrome extension for recording browser actions and replaying them as automated flows. No account. No server. No AI.
RECORD
Click Record, then use the page as you normally would. Clicks (left, double, right, middle, with optional offsets), typing (including contenteditable), file uploads, drag-and-drop, hovers, keypresses, dialogs, scroll, and navigations (including SPA soft navigations) are captured as structured steps. No selectors to write.
REPLAY
Play a flow with one click. Replay uses the Chrome DevTools Protocol to fire real input events, retries flaky selector resolution, and waits for the page to settle before the next step. Works across tabs opened by the flow, iframes, and open shadow DOM.
EDIT
Change any step after recording. Add waits, asserts, variables, and optional RPA steps (extract, condition, loop, API call, script, network mock, prompt/OTP). Group flows in folders and run a selected set fail-fast.
VARIABLES
Define named variables such as {BASE_URL}, {USERNAME}, {PASSWORD}. Switch environments at play time. Sensitive fields (passwords, cards, OTPs) are masked at capture by default.
EXPORT
Export a flow as JSON, YAML, or a Playwright TypeScript file. An optional local CLI runner exists for power users; it is not part of this Chrome item.
PRIVACY
All flows, run results, and failure screenshots stay in this browser (IndexedDB). The extension does not phone home, does not include analytics, and does not send page content to any AI service.
LIMITS (honest)
Closed shadow DOM is session-scoped and can still fail on some hosts. Virtualized lists need a recorded scroll. File-upload replay needs an absolute path set after record. Complex rich-text editors may need a script step. Debugger cannot attach to chrome:// or the Chrome Web Store.
Who it is for: QA engineers and developers who want to record a flow on a real site and play it back without writing a test harness first.
