About QA Recorder
QA Recorder lets testers build end-to-end tests without writing code, run them in their own browser, and hand them to developers as Playwright specs.
BUILD A TEST STEP BY STEP
• Add steps one by one: open a URL, click, type, choose a dropdown option, press a key, hover, scroll, upload a file, wait.
• Pick elements by clicking them on the page. QA Recorder chooses a robust selector (test id, id, attributes, text, or "the Add button next to Iced Latte") and checks that it matches exactly one element.
• Add checks: a text is or isn't shown, an element is shown or gone, the URL contains something.
• Save text from the page to a variable and use it later. Random names, emails, phone numbers and numbers for sign-up tests.
• Works inside iframes (also cross-origin) and open shadow DOM, and follows links that open a new tab or window.
RUN IT IN YOUR BROWSER
• Each step can run as soon as you save it, so the page moves along while you build.
• Run the whole test, or repeat it several times. Slow speeds highlight each element before it is used.
• Optional screenshots after every step, and one HTML evidence report per run.
• Real input mode sends real clicks and typing for sites that ignore simulated events.
SUITES AND TEST RUNS
• A suite runs several tests in a row in the same tab: log in, order, log out.
• A test run runs the suites and tests you pick in one go, e.g. before a release, and shows how each one went.
WORK AS A TEAM (OPTIONAL)
• Sign in with email or Google, create a workspace and invite your team with a code.
• Share tests and suites; everyone's copy stays the same. Owners, editors and viewers.
• Runs of shared tests are recorded, and the web dashboard shows the team's tests, test runs and run history.
EXPORT TO PLAYWRIGHT
• One small .spec.js file per test or suite, plus a single runner file. No other dependencies, ready for CI.
PRIVACY
Your tests stay in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you sign in to a team and share a test. Screenshots never leave your browser.
