Proximity Chat

Proximity Chat matches you with people near your physical location who speak your language — or lets you create self-destructing group rooms — all inside a Chrome side panel. 🔒 **Privacy-first:** No messages are ever stored. No accounts. No tracking. Everything disappears the moment you disconnect. 🌍 **How it works:** • Your city is detected automatically from your IP — never GPS • Choose your preferred language & matching scope (city, radius, or global) • Hit "Quick Match" to connect 1:1, browse nearby users, or create a group room • Chat in real-time — messages relay directly in-memory and are never written to disk • When a chat or room is empty — it completely self-destructs and disappears forever ✨ **Features:** • **1:1 Quick Match:** Instantly pair with the closest person who speaks your language • **👥 Ephemeral Group Rooms (NEW):** Create custom multi-user rooms in 1 click or join via Room Code. The entire room self-destructs automatically when the last person leaves! • **Local & Global Discovery:** Browse online users in your city or search by proximity radius • **Zero-Trace Privacy:** In-memory message relay only — zero database logging • **Saved Contacts:** Save nicknames locally in your browser to reconnect later without creating an account • **Live Feedback:** Real-time typing indicators and online participant counts • **Sleek Glassmorphism UI:** Modern dark-mode interface designed cleanly for the Chrome Side Panel • **14 Languages Supported:** Arabic, English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Urdu, and Chinese 🚫 **What we DON'T do:** • No message logging or chat history — zero data retention • No persistent rooms — rooms vanish from memory when empty • No GPS or precise location tracking — approximate city-level only • No user accounts, passwords, or personal profiles • No ads, no analytics trackers, no data brokers • No cookies 💡 **Use cases:** • **Travelers & Expats:** Chat with locals or find travelers who speak your language • **Students & Campuses:** Create instant pop-up study rooms for your class that disappear after the session • **Events & Meetups:** Spin up a temporary group room with a code — no phone numbers or invites required • **Coworking & Remote Work:** Network with professionals working in the same city or café • **Language Exchange:** Practice languages in real-time with people nearby
