PreviewChecks - Open Graph Checker

Check Open Graph tags and preview social shares directly in Chrome. PreviewChecks shows how the current page's link may appear on X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and chat apps, then explains missing metadata, duplicate tags and other social preview issues. Use it before publishing a landing page, sharing a blog post or debugging a missing link preview image. What PreviewChecks does: - Checks Open Graph meta tags, X/Twitter Card tags, canonical URLs and page language locally. - Shows social preview cards, a quick score and actionable fixes for missing or duplicate metadata. - Checks English text in large preview images for size, contrast, cropping and possible platform overlays at mobile widths. - Runs optional server diagnostics for image reachability, HTTP responses, redirects, crawler-like access, WAF challenges and TLS support. How to use it: 1. Open the page you want to check and click PreviewChecks in the Chrome toolbar. 2. Enable local checks to inspect metadata from the document already open in your tab. 3. Choose Text checks to inspect the selected large social banner. Adjust the left and right margins to match the social app. X summary mini-icon cards are excluded. 4. Choose Check server configuration when you need external image and crawler diagnostics. This sends only the current page URL to the PreviewChecks API after your click. Privacy by design: - After you enable local checks, the quick scan reads the document already open in the tab, makes no second page request and does not send page HTML to PreviewChecks. - Text checks currently support English and run OCR and measurements locally with packaged code. - When Text checks starts, the extension sends the selected preview image URL to https://previewchecks.com/api/v1/image. The proxy retrieves and returns the image bytes for local analysis. It does not send page HTML or use a remote AI service for OCR. - Local findings use session-only extension storage. - The server check is optional and sends only the current page URL after your click.
