About POP: Power Of Pausing
POP - Power Of Pausing
A Pomodoro-styled break reminder for people who lose track of time at the screen. Every 30 minutes (fully customizable), your screen gently blurs and a small card appears with one randomly chosen activity: drink water, stretch, walk around, or rest your eyes. A 5-minute countdown (also adjustable) tracks your break, and a 30-second warning gives you a heads-up before each one starts.
HOW IT WORKS
→ Pause: your screen blurs and a short warning appears 30 seconds before each break.
→ Observe: a randomly chosen activity is shown - hydration, stretching, walking, or eye rest - with a live countdown.
→ Proceed: once the break ends (or you skip it), you're right back to where you left off.
FEATURES
- Customizable timing - set your own work interval (5–120 minutes) and break duration (1–30 minutes).
- Four rotating activities with GIFs/memes, each with its own visual cue.
- One-click skip when you genuinely can't step away — no friction, no guilt.
- Lightweight - runs on a single scheduled browser alarm, no measurable impact on performance.
PRIVACY FIRST
POP does not collect, transmit, or share any data of any kind. Your settings and break history are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API. There are no servers, no accounts, no analytics tracking, and no ads. Uninstalling the extension permanently removes everything POP ever stored.
WHO IT'S FOR
Developers, writers, students, researchers, and anyone else who sits at a screen for long, uninterrupted stretches and wants a quiet, automatic nudge to step away - without needing to set their own timers or rely on willpower alone.
