The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Playback Speed Control
Playback Speed Control gives you one popup to control video and audio playback speed on any website.
Every site uses a different player. Many have no speed control, and even when they do, your preferred speed often resets after a reload. Playback Speed Control provides one consistent interface and remembers your settings.
FEATURES
• Control playback speed on any website from one popup
• Set a global default that persists across tabs and reloads
• Pin a different speed for each site, such as 1.5× on YouTube and 2× for podcasts
• Automatically re-apply your speed when a website tries to reset it
• Detect live streams and temporarily return them to 1× speed
• See when the live-stream override is active in the popup and extension badge
• Disable live-stream detection from the settings page
• Control both video and audio elements
• Choose from 12 presets ranging from 0.25× to 2.5×
• See the active speed directly on the extension badge
• Manage pinned sites from the settings page
• Use light or dark mode
• Available in 12 languages
MINIMAL FOOTPRINT
No hotkeys. No overlays. No controls injected into pages.
Playback Speed Control runs only the code needed to manage playback speed. This helps avoid conflicts with website players and keeps pages free from additional visual clutter.
