The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Pimp my Sample
Pimp my Sample turns Chrome into a sampling workstation for music producers.
Hit record on any tab and the audio lands in your library as a WAV — ready to work with in the built-in Studio:
— One-tap recording from Chrome's side panel, with a live oscilloscope visual
— Trim with draggable edges and fades, normalize, reverse, gain, DC removal
— Chop mode: drag slices on the waveform, or auto-detect transients and slice to a beat grid (1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16)
— Audition slices from your keyboard like pads (1–0, Q–P), with per-slice gain and reverse
— Organize samples into folders, rename, tag keepers, chops stay grouped under their parent sample
— Automatic BPM and key detection, shown right in the library
— Mirror your whole library to a folder on your disk — your DAW sees every sample instantly, as plain WAV files
— Undo protection: destructive edits keep a version history you can revert
Everything runs and stays on your machine: no account, no upload, no tracking, no analytics. You choose what you record, and you are responsible for having the rights to the audio you capture.
Keyboard-first: Space for transport, Cmd+Z undo, Cmd+S save, arrow-key nudging, full shortcut cheat-sheet built in.

v0.4.0 — Bigger, smoother, more control
- Reworked the record visualizer: a live synthwave scope that reacts to the real audio, with a tuning panel to make it your own
- New "Export all" — mirror your whole library to a folder on disk as WAV, keeping your folder structure
- Studio: pick a destination folder for "Download all", delete/reset slices without cutting audio, and slices auto-clear after saving
- Library: drag-to-reorder finally rock-solid (clips and slices), parents carry their slices when moved, clearer nested tree lines, and a drag preview
- Playback plays the raw file at true volume — no surprise loudness changes
- Cleaner setup for disk-folder sync, a feedback button, and lots of polish
