About Photon
Photon: Governed AI for Browser Workflows
Photon brings your organization’s governed AI workspace directly into Chrome. Open Photon in the browser side panel, connect the current tab, and work with AI without continually switching between your browser and a separate application.
Ask Photon to understand the page you are viewing, assist with browser tasks, work with organizational knowledge, and coordinate approved agents and tools. You remain in control throughout the workflow.
A Photon account and access to a compatible Photon environment are required.
WORK WITH AI BESIDE YOUR BROWSER
Photon runs in Chrome’s side panel, keeping your conversation available alongside the active web page. You can continue browsing while reviewing responses, monitoring progress, or taking back control of a task.
Photon can assist with user-directed browser activities such as:
• Observing and understanding the current page
• Navigating between pages
• Clicking buttons and links
• Entering text into forms
• Selecting options
• Scrolling and waiting for page updates
• Extracting requested information
• Uploading and downloading files
• Completing approved multi-step workflows
Browser interaction begins when you submit a request and ends when that request completes. Tabs are managed independently, and you can pause automation or take control at any time.
SPARK: YOUR PERSONAL AI WORKSPACE
Use Spark for personal conversations, research, analysis, content generation, and browser-assisted work.
From the extension, you can:
• Start and continue Spark conversations
• Select from models made available by your organization
• Attach files and supporting material
• Work with the context of the connected browser tab
• Review generated content and downloadable results
• Revisit recent conversations without leaving the side panel
Spark combines conversation, organizational context, and browser interaction in one focused workspace.
SPECTRA: SHARED KNOWLEDGE AND COLLABORATION
Access Spectra workspaces from the extension to work with shared organizational knowledge and team conversations.
Spectra helps teams:
• Organize conversations around shared subjects or initiatives
• Reuse approved documents and organizational context
• Continue existing team workflows from the browser
• Keep relevant knowledge available while working across websites
• Apply the access controls configured in Photon
Access to each Spectra workspace depends on the user’s Photon identity and organizational permissions.
AGENTS, TOOLS, AND CONNECTED SYSTEMS
Photon can use specialized agents, skills, and tools configured by your organization. Administrators manage these capabilities through Photon, including which users and teams may access them.
Depending on your organization’s configuration, Photon may assist with research, document analysis, data operations, application workflows, and other multi-step tasks. Available models, agents, tools, and integrations vary by Photon environment.
HUMAN CONTROL AND RUNTIME GOVERNANCE
Photon is designed to keep people in command of AI-assisted work.
Browser workflows include controls for:
• Explicitly connecting a browser tab
• Pausing Photon control
• Taking back control of the page
• Cancelling an active task
• Reviewing actions that require approval
• Approving or denying consequential actions
• Preventing uncertain actions from being repeated after interruption
Photon applies the identity, policy, approval, and audit controls configured by your organization while work is running. Unauthorized actions can be blocked before they reach connected systems, and actions requiring confirmation pause for user review.
PRIVACY AND SECURITY
Photon connects to the Photon environment entered during sign-in and uses the user’s existing authenticated account to establish a short-lived extension session.
The extension:
• Does not store a client secret or refresh token
• Does not request access to browser cookies
• Does not request browsing-history permission
• Does not use Chrome’s debugger permission
• Does not use native messaging
• Does not load executable code from remote origins
• Uses browser access for user-initiated workflows on connected tabs
• Requires explicit approval for configured consequential actions
Photon requests access to websites so user-submitted browser workflows can operate on the current site without requiring a separate permission prompt for every domain. Access to restricted Chrome pages is not supported.
Your organization controls its Photon environment, user access, connected models, agents, tools, policies, and data configuration. Consult your organization’s Photon administrator and privacy policy for environment-specific retention, processing, and integration details.
BUILT FOR ENTERPRISE ENVIRONMENTS
Photon supports enterprise identity and access controls, including organizational authentication and centrally managed entitlements. The capabilities visible to each user are determined by their account, organization, and configured permissions.
Photon is model-agnostic. Organizations can configure supported foundation models and connected services according to their operational, security, and compliance requirements.
